To All the Moms: We See You (and We Celebrate You)

This Mother’s Day, we pause not to sell, but to see—to recognize the women whose love has shaped us, guided us, and reminded us who we are at every stage of life.

We see the moms who raised their voices when we were too shy to speak up—and later taught us how to use our own.

We see the moms who showed up, no matter how tired they were—still in work clothes, hair in a bun, keys barely out of the ignition, but arms open and hearts full.

We see the moms who didn’t get it “perfect” (because what even is that?) but somehow gave us just what we needed anyway: their presence, their stories, their strength.

We see the grandmothers, the stepmoms, the bonus moms, the aunts who mother, the friends who step in without being asked. We see the moms doing it solo, the ones doing it while caring for their moms, and the ones navigating motherhood in an ever-changing world.

And for those of us missing our mothers this year—whether the grief is fresh or softened by time—we hold space for you too. Sometimes, Mother’s Day is a celebration. Sometimes it’s a quiet moment of reflection. Often, it’s both.

Motherhood is not one thing. It’s a million little things. It’s laughing until you cry. Crying until you laugh. It’s the carpool chaos and the bedtime wisdom. The family calendar brain. The expert-level snack bag. The subtle eye roll that says “I love you but you’re being ridiculous.” The hug that makes everything okay again—even when you’re the one who gave it.
