Why Traditional Readers Fall Short
Most reading glasses are designed for one distance.
Real life isn’t.
You can’t see everything clearly at once
Your book is sharp — but your computer screen isn’t.
Why it happens: Traditional readers focus at only one fixed distance.
Result: You lean forward, tilt your head, or constantly adjust.
You keep switching glasses
On. Off. Swap pairs. Repeat.
Why it happens: Standard lenses aren’t built for how people actually move between tasks.
Result: Daily frustration and constant interruption.
Your eyes feel tired too soon
By afternoon, your eyes feel strained.
Why it happens: Your eyes compensate when lenses don’t match real working distances.
Result: Fatigue, tension, and reduced comfort.
Tip: If you’re nodding along, you’re not alone — most readers were never designed for modern, multi-distance days.
There’s a Better Way to See
Your day isn’t one distance.
Your glasses shouldn’t be either.

Not All Reading Glasses Are Created Equal

Will these work for MY face?

Perfect for you if:

  • You read, scroll, and look up throughout the day
  • You switch between phone, laptop, and conversation
  • You want predictable clarity without progressive distortion

Not ideal if:

  • You want full-distance prescription lenses
  • You rarely switch focal ranges
  • You already love your progressives
How to Choose Your Strengths
Choosing your powers is easier than it sounds. Here’s a simple way to think about it:

Step 1 – Start with what you already wear.
If you use two pairs today — one for the computer and one for reading — those are the same two strengths you’ll use in your Dual-Strength lenses: computer power on top, reading power on the bottom.
If you currently wear just one pair of readers, use that strength as your bottom (reading) power.

Step 2 – Choose a milder power for the top.
The top of the lens is made for computer and mid-range (arm’s-length) vision, so it should be weaker than your reading strength — similar to your “computer pair” if you already use one.

Step 3 – Why the difference matters.
Dual-Strength lenses work best when the top is at least 1.00 diopter weaker than the bottom. This creates a smooth, comfortable transition from computer distance to close-up reading — without eye strain.

Step 4 – Fine-tune for your daily habits.
If you spend more time on the computer than reading, choose a gentler top power for relaxed, sustained clarity.

Here are a few example combinations that follow the required 1.00 diopter difference and offer smooth dual-distance clarity:
Your usual readers Suggested top (computer) Suggested bottom (reading)
+2.50 +1.50 +2.50
+3.00 +2.00 +3.00
+3.50 +2.50 +3.50
+4.00 +3.00 +4.00

you have changed my life, I mean it!”

Dual-Strength Readers FAQ

A few quick answers to the questions people ask most before they order.

What makes Dual-Strength different from regular readers?

Dual-Strength readers use two magnification zones in a single lens — a milder power on top for computer and mid-range, and a stronger power on the bottom for close-up reading.

Are these custom-made?

Yes. Each pair is made to order using the exact top and bottom magnification powers you choose.

How long does shipping take?

You’ll see an estimated delivery window at checkout, and tracking details are emailed once your order ships.

Will this replace bifocals?

For many customers, yes. Dual-Strength lenses provide clearly defined zones so you can move between computer and reading tasks without switching pairs.

What if my strength is wrong?

If something feels off, it’s usually a small adjustment to the top power. Our team can help fine-tune your selection.

Can I wear them all day?

Yes — they’re designed for extended reading and computer use without constant switching.

Nice glasses for folks who feel....

Nice glasses for folks who feel cheated when they go to the fancy eye places. These work well. with good optical quality. My only suggestion would be for a little less yellow intensity on the tint option.

    works for me

Works for me. Perfect for working at my computer. I got the 1.50/2.50. I just wish there was an extra wide option.

Great but did not work for me. Your milage may vary. Worth a look.

These are just want I needed post-cataract surgery. The folks here were helpful and shipping was fast. Sadly, the placement of the bifocal insert was just too low for my needs and I found myself looking through the top line much of the time. This will vary by individual so it may work fine for you. It is worth trying out! And the refund was swift and easy! Cheers
